For a beginner...I like: For the price, you get a respected brand name (vs the unknowns you'll find here for the same or cheaper price point, known) and a great selection of discs. While, for a beginner, the speed of the driver is WAY to high to throw properly for a long time, the rest are great models in a cheaper, but nice, plastic. Yes, it may not last forever, but 1. Will let you try and learn about some things at a great price before exploring (and buying) more of what you think you'll love, and 2. Let you see how discs change over time as they "beat in."I dislike: The driver was 12 or 13 speed, something very few advanced players have the power to actually throw. At least it's a set and the others are more reasonable. The WEIGHT is my #1 complaint. Some of these are HEAVY! Discs above 180g (and not putters) are not going to be great for many players in typical weather, especially for newer players. Unless there's wild wind or a very specific shot, most players, especially newer players, aren't grabbing that 181g disc. If you're just getting into disc golf, look for lighter discs. <=170g will definitely improve distance. The colors never really bother me, but muted purples, yellows, etc. will be much harder to find under fall leaves or in brush than brighter colors. For the price at the time of my purchase, if you're into disc golf and looking for your first set, these are great. Have some experience and looking for something quick to buy for a friend joining you? A great choice! A true beginner looking to get into disc golf? You could do a LOT worse. But there are 3 disc sets out there, maybe from other companies, that might work better for you. I'd recommend looking for a set with lower speeds (the first of the 4 numbers rating the disc, ideally 9 and below, but if you're truly new that 9 may still be way too high to throw well 9) and lighter discs. My real recommendation if you want to get into the sport is to get the 5 pack or seconds PA3 putters from prodigy, an amazing disc that has the speed and flight path to have you learn properly, at about the same price. But no one ever actually does this and everyone thinks it's much cooler to try to learn everything from a bunch of different discs, some of which they don't have the form or power to throw close to correctly.
