I'm a beginner and I must say I hit the mat more often than I should. The main area stays intact but the edges have many damages. I think the overall quality of this mat is OK. I might need to purchase a large one to avoid hitting the edges. The following review is what happens when one receives a golf mat on a rainy day and has access to the Internet. Wanting to work on one's swing during the winter lead to the purchase of this practice mat. The cost of the mat is equivalent to approximately two trips to the driving range but with less travel time and far less snickering from passersby. Both of which were definite selling points. As mentioned by others, there is an issue with the mat laying flat when unrolled. Thank goodness for the included tip of, "please spread it out on the floor, and put some heavy stuff on the mat surface for 1-3 days, usually it will be flattened to use." (Hand to God, that's what it says.) Noted. Heavy stuff is, in fact, now applied to each end of the mat as recommended. One awaits with unmitigated glee, and mild apprehension, for the completion of the suggested 3 day period of heavy stuff application to see if flatness will be achieved. Now, to address Amazon's request to rate the mat's features of durability, sturdiness and warmth. Let's start with sturdiness. If it's ability to be unrolled is any indication of sturdiness then one is happy to say that in 10-15years this mat can be passed down to grandchildren if they should ever have need of it. As for durability, one assumes mat durability depends on personal swing habits. Personally, the ground behind the mat and the air above the ball will help to increase the durability of my mat considerably. (If you know, you know). Lastly, the assessment of warmth. This one took a bit more consideration. One supposes, if needed, one could wrap the mat around one's midsection for an additional layer of insulation, preferably with the turf-side outward to limit skin irritation. One gently suggests that if a situation consistently arises in which this mat is needed for warmth rather than the practice of a golf swing, one should consider giving up the game of golf entirely. This concludes my mat review, thank you for your attention and keep hitting 'em straight! It’s good Mat even though it’s small but works good I have hit Mat many times with irons and so far has not ripped Also son bin practicing with this Mat and had hold up good. Will see how long will last until starts to ripped for know has held up.Perfect practice mat for home. It can handle full swing.I love hitting off this mat. I have read about people having difficulty because mat arrived rolled up. Maybe because I read of this issue, I simply rolled it the opposite direction and taped it in place for a few hours and then put it on my office floor where I stood on it for a while.I took this to my back yard net and loved hitting a bunch of shots. It really helps my practice. Previously I gave myself tendonitis hitting off of a 4x6 rug that was placed on a carpet pad. It was plenty soft but I could still jam my wrist into the rug.People have complained that this mat is too small. Others said they'll fasten it to a board. I love that the mat moves when I hit a solid iron shot. It only moves a little when hitting off the tee. When you hit off the ground, it moves. It's called a divot.. Your divot indicates that you have moved a small amount of the earth. With a static mat, when you hit down on the ball, my arms suffer from the impact. This doesn't happen if you thin the ball, but that's not the goal. You want to hit down into the ball, thus the mat. When I did this on the rug - ouch - since the rug was large and I was standing on it. If you're used to playing golf on the ground (and you are) then you should be happy this mat moves when you hit off of it. That's what the ground does.Sure this mat could be thicker like the mats at a driving range but then it would be much more expensive. And those mats still don't give the way the ground does. As is, this is a great tool that offers wonderful support and feedback to my practice.Lighter than I expected but has really good quality. I like how it came with 2 rubber tees and a small bag of wooden tees. Can’t wait to put it to use!Looks good for the money but one of the plastic tees was missedAlwfully stiff when you hit the ball.Having recently taken up golf I thought that this would be perfect for trying out my swing, after having a lesson, so could practice without making holes in the carpet and garden. The item came rolled up so had to uncurl it before use, using it is pretty straight forward using the provided tee, small tees might be good also. Ball sat nicely on top of the tee and the mat was of decent weight, just a shame that the mat was a little small, is of good fake grass quality and seems to be durable.Overall a good product that does have some use but is on a small side and could do with different length tees.It is what it is.Although it states the size, it’s smaller than expected but the stated size.It comes rolled up so you need to weigh it down to flatten it otherwise it will not stay flat.As it’s rolled up, the rubber tee is bent slightly so it would be a good idea to order some spares.I’ve ordered a pack of 4 mixed sizes anyway for different clubs. It’s ok, it will do the job it’s intended for.Having it not rolled would have given it 5 stars.Take note, this is like a large handkerchief laid on the floor. I know it says the size but if you're not looking (like me) you could easily be disappointed. To be fair to this advertiser, they didn't use a superimposed photo of a man stood on it like another did. Maybe this was still in my mind when I ordered this. Not worth any money , the hole the tee is pushed through immediately ripped causing the product to be uselessUsed for chipping off
